Dialectical Behavior Therapy

DBT is a form of psychotherapy widely believed to focus only on borderline personality disorder. But DBT really is a treatment for multi-diagnostic, severely disordered individuals with pervasive emotion dysregulation. Research suggests DBT may be helpful for many conditions, such as eating disorders, substance use disorders, domestic violence, ADHD, depression and anxiety disorders, particularly PTSD and complex-PTSD.  Research suggests DBT is even a helpful adjunctive treatment for bipolar and severe mental illness.
