Rich Robinson, Psy.D.

Dr. Richard Robinson is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Hawaii and has been in practice since 2010. Before entering the field of psychology, Dr. Robinson spent 20 years working as a first responder. This background has strongly influenced his approach to therapy and provides him with a unique understanding of how traumatic experiences affect individuals and their families.

Dr. Robinson has extensive training and clinical experience in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), trauma-related conditions, and anxiety disorders. His work focuses on helping individuals understand and recover from the lasting psychological effects of difficult and life-altering events.

Since completing training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in 2007, Dr. Robinson has incorporated DBT into his clinical practice, particularly in the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder and related conditions involving emotional regulation difficulties.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Robinson has published journal articles and presented numerous professional lectures and trainings on topics including childhood sexual abuse, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder.

We are accepting adults (18+) for our wait list. Because, to our knowledge, we offer the only standard model DBT program in Hawaii (including all four elements listed above) the demand for our services is high and the wait for an opening can vary greatly. We encourage interested individuals to add their names to the list, but apologize for our inability to accept new clients as quickly as would be desirable.
