Alyssa Mormando, M.S.

Alyssa Mormando began her professional career as an Emergency Medical Technician, spending four years providing pre-hospital trauma care, patient assessment, and life-saving medical treatment in high-stress environments. Her experience working on the front lines of emergency care shaped her interest in psychology and the impact of trauma on mental health.

Alyssa earned her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Mental Health from Chaminade University of Honolulu in June 2025. She is currently working toward licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

Since 2022, Alyssa has trained with DBT of Hawaii, completing her practicum, internship, and post-graduate clinical hours within the program. She plans to continue working with the program following full licensure. In addition to her training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Alyssa is pursuing further specialization in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

We are accepting adults (18+) for our wait list. Because, to our knowledge, we offer the only standard model DBT program in Hawaii (including all four elements listed above) the demand for our services is high and the wait for an opening can vary greatly. We encourage interested individuals to add their names to the list, but apologize for our inability to accept new clients as quickly as would be desirable.
